Job description

Due to the clients requirements this role will be paid monthly rather than weekly., The successful Senior AWS DevOps Engineer (AWS, GitHub, Terraform) will come in, build the infrastructure, set up and then walk away after the initial 3 months., Responsibilities for the Senior AWS DevOps Engineer (AWS, GitHub, Terraform)

  • Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using DevOps and GitHub Actions to support efficient, reliable, and secure software delivery.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform, ensuring consistency and scalability across environments.
  • Develop and maintain reusable YAML templates, deployment workflows, and automation frameworks to standardize delivery processes.
  • Write and maintain Python and Shell Scripts to automate operational tasks, cloud resource management, reporting, and system integrations.
  • Collaborate closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to streamline build, deployment, and release processes.
  • Manage and support AWS cloud environments.
  • Implement DevOps best practices around continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and automation.
  • Monitor application and infrastructure health, proactively identifying and resolving performance, reliability, and deployment issues.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of production and non-production incidents.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and governance standards are incorporated into deployment pipelines and cloud environments.
  • Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives across engineering teams.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing within the organization.

Requirements

Our Public Sector Client are looking for a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer (AWS, GitHub, Terraform) with 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD engineering. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable and secure deployment platforms across cloud environments using DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and AWS services., Requirements for the Senior AWS DevOps Engineer (AWS, GitHub, Terraform)

  • Strong hands-on experience with DevOps for build, release, and deployment.
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.
  • Good understanding of YAML-based pipeline development and configuration.
  • Strong Scripting skills using Bash/Shell Scripting for automation and operational tasks.
  • Experience working with Python libraries such as Boto3, Requests, or similar frameworks for cloud and platform automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and life cycle management.
  • Good knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, Route53, and related networking and security concepts.
  • Experience with Git and modern source control practices.
  • Familiarity with Docker and container-based deployment approaches.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure automation, release management, monitoring, logging, and system troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, access management, secrets management, and cloud governance.

Nice-to-Have Skills for the AWS DevOps Engineer

  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk.
  • Familiarity with GitOps practices and deployment strategies.
  • Knowledge of Python-based web frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
  • Ideally have been an AWS within a Public Sector setting
