Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field with 6+ or 8+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\n
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.\n
  • Experience as a NetApp Enterprise Storage Engineer.\n
  • Experience managing enterprise storage solutions for applications, cloud, and on premise file storage.\n
  • Expert knowledge of NetApp Data ONTAP and ONTAP System Manager.\n
  • Expert knowledge of operating systems and technologies.\n
  • Proficient working knowledge of network technologies and protocols.\n
  • Strong understanding of storage systems, RAID, SAN, NAS, backup solutions, and data storage optimization, with expertise in backup and disaster recovery solutions.\n
  • Experience working in virtual environments.\n

Level of opportunity, including compensation, will be matched to a candidate’s experience.\n \n \nPrimary Responsibilities:\n \n \n

  • Design, deploy, configure, and administer NetApp enterprise storage environments.\n
  • Manage storage provisioning, capacity, performance, availability, and lifecycle activities across production and nonproduction environments.\n
  • Monitor storage health, utilization, and performance, perform proactive capacity planning, and resolve performance bottlenecks.\n
  • Troubleshoot complex storage incidents involving NetApp systems, hosts, networks, Fibre Channel fabrics, and application dependencies.\n
  • Perform upgrades, firmware updates, patching, hardware refreshes, and storage migrations while minimizing service disruption.\n
  • Configure and maintain Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs), volumes, aggregates, LUNs, qtrees, quotas, export policies, and related storage services.\n
  • Implement storage security and access controls consistent with organizational and cybersecurity requirements.\n
  • Support high availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery testing, including validation of recovery procedures.\n
  • Analyze storage trends and recommend architecture, capacity, performance, and cost optimization improvements.\n
  • Maintain system documentation, diagrams, configuration standards, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.\n
  • Coordinate with server, virtualization, network, database, backup, cybersecurity, and application teams to support infrastructure requirements.\n
  • Provide technical support for escalated incidents and participate in root cause analysis and problem management.\n
  • Work with NetApp and other vendors to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and coordinate replacements or engineering support.\n
  • Ensure storage platforms comply with applicable configuration, change management, security, and operational standards.\n
  • Participate in maintenance activities and provide on call or after hours support when required.\n
  • Travel may be required to Norfolk, VA; Charleston, SC; Newport, RI; Whidbey Island, WA; San Diego, CA; Fallon, NV; Honolulu, HI; Naples, Italy; Guam; Bahrain; and Japan.\n
