Job description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mobile Core & Roaming Engineer to join one of our clients, a leading international organisation in the telecommunications industry. You will become part of a specialised engineering team responsible for international roaming, mobile core networks, signalling, security, and ensuring the reliability of critical mobile services.
In this role, you will work at the heart of a complex mobile network environment, combining hands-on operational engineering and complex troubleshooting with platform optimisation, automation, and the implementation of new mobile technologies., You will collaborate closely with internal engineering teams and international telecom and roaming partners to ensure reliable and secure mobile connectivity.

- Strong professional experience within mobile telecommunications networks, preferably within Mobile Core, Packet Core, or Roaming environments.
- Hands-on experience with international roaming and/or strong Mobile Core experience with clear exposure to roaming services.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications signalling protocols, particularly SS7 and Diameter.
- Knowledge of additional protocols and technologies such as SIP, INAP, IP, and relevant 3GPP standards and interfaces.
- Hands-on experience working with Linux and/or Unix environments.
- Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration, and operational telecommunications tooling.
- Knowledge of 4G/LTE, EPC/Packet Core, VoLTE and/or 5G Core technologies.
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex incidents within business-critical production environments.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills combined with a proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make technical decisions when required.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external telecommunications partners.
- Professional fluency in English.
- Willingness to participate in a periodic on-call rotation.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup, approximately two days per week.
What We’re Looking ForNice to Have
- Experience with telecom fraud prevention, fraud detection, or signalling security.
- Experience with telecommunications monitoring or signalling platforms such as Tekelec, Radcom, Datamon, or comparable solutions.
- Experience with automation, scripting, or operational tooling within a DevOps environment.
- Experience working directly with international carriers, roaming partners, or other telecommunications providers.
- Hands-on exposure to VoLTE roaming and/or 5G roaming.
