Job description

The Data Scientist in Process Development is responsible for supporting data integration and expanding capabilities in data visualization and modeling for biotherapeutics process development. You will help turn complex process data into clear insights that support scientific research, development, testing, and process improvement. This role contributes to Takeda’s mission by analyzing data from materials, processes, and experiments under a range of conditions to support better decisions across development work.

How you will contribute:

  • Develop, implement, and support data integration workflows that bring together process development data from multiple sources
  • Build and improve data visualization tools and dashboards to help teams explore trends, patterns, and process performance
  • Develop statistical and predictive models to support biotherapeutics process development and data-driven decision-making
  • Analyze complex datasets independently and identify useful insights, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Work with scientific and technical teams to define data needs, align on analysis approaches, and support project timelines and deliverables
  • Present data findings, models, and technical updates at team meetings and project reviews
  • Troubleshoot data, software, or analysis issues and recommend practical improvements
  • Serve as a technical resource and trainer for the team on data tools, analysis methods, and visualization practices
  • Participate in external collaborations and interactions to support data analysis, model development, and knowledge transfer

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s with 8+ years, Master’s with 6+ years experience or PhD in Data sciences or a related field

  • Experience working as a data scientist, data analyst, or in a similar role supporting scientific or process development work
  • Strong experience with data integration, data cleaning, and working across multiple data sources
  • Strong experience building data visualizations, dashboards, and reports for technical audiences
  • Experience developing statistical, machine learning, or predictive models for scientific or process data
  • Understanding of biotherapeutics process development, biopharmaceutical data, or related laboratory and manufacturing data
  • Ability to analyze complex data independently, select appropriate methods, and communicate findings clearly
  • Familiarity with laboratory, process development, or manufacturing systems used to generate and manage scientific data
  • Ability to support junior team members and contribute to process improvements through data-driven insights

As an experienced professional, you specialize in solving various complex problems, sometimes referring to established precedents and policies. Your work involves analyzing diverse data and selecting appropriate methods for solutions, while networking with senior professionals in your field. You possess a complete understanding of principles, concepts, and industry practices, exerting some influence on organizational objectives. You often work independently under general direction, occasionally leading small project teams, and may represent the organization in contractual or project matters, interacting with senior internal and external personnel. You might also participate in training junior staff., The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
