Job description
Everforth ECS is seeking a DevOps Engineer to work in a hybrid capacity with 3 days a week onsite at DISA HQ in Ft. Meade, MD . This position will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure across cloud (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform) environment. A successful candidate will be able to bridge the gap between development and operations teams, optimizing continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to drive automation and efficiency. This position will work as a member of a team managing and maintaining multiple coalition Mission Partner network enclaves in support of the DoW community and will work with a team to design, implement, and maintain enclaves’ virtual infrastructure in both AWS and Azure Cloud as well as on premises deployments. The ideal candidate has exceptional problem-solving skills and a breadth of expertise in cloud networking concepts, modern CI/CD pipeline, platform automation, and infrastructure development supporting these technologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, deploy, and maintain immutable infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, or cloud-native tools (ARM, CloudFormation) across multi-cloud environments
- Deployment & CI/CD Pipelines: Build, optimize, and manage end-to-end automated deployment pipelines using platforms like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI to enable high-speed, secure software delivery
- Containerization & Orchestration: Manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS/AKS/GKE), ensuring high availability for containerized applications
- Observability & Reliability: Establish unified monitoring, log centralization, and alert systems across hybrid systems using Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch or relevant tech stacks.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce DevSecOps practices, managing IAM policies, network security, and compliance guardrails (CIS/NIST)
- Mentorship & Strategy: Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers, while improving deployment processes and promoting a DevOps culture
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000
Requirements
- U. S. Citizen.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of related professional experience.
- Active DoD 8140 IAT Level II Security+ (or higher).
- Cloud Platforms: Expert knowledge in at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
- IaC/Config Management: Experience with Terraform (required) and Ansible.
- Containerization and orchestration: Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
- Scripting: Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Powershell for automation.
- CI/CD Platforms: Expert knowledge defining automated pipelines using YAML configurations in standard industry pipelines
- CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, Azure Devops GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- OS Knowledge: Strong proficiency in Linux-based environments,
- Domain Knowledge: Understanding of classified environments, sovereign clouds, and intelligence community IT frameworks
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
- Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
- Professional-level DevOps or Solutions Architect certifications (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience with the following:
- Designing, deploying, debuging and maintaining immutable infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, or cloud-native tools (ARM, CloudFormation) across multi-cloud environments
- Building, optimizing, and managing end-to-end automated deployment pipelines using platforms like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI to enable high-speed, secure software delivery
