Job description

The Senior Technical Lead serves as the primary technical leader responsible for the architecture, design, development, and delivery of complex, cloud-native enterprise solutions. This role combines deep hands-on engineering expertise with strategic technical leadership, driving the adoption of architectural standards, engineering best practices, and modern software development methodologies across multiple teams., The Senior Technical Lead provides technical direction for full-stack application development, event-driven architectures, microservices, and integration platforms leveraging Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Angular, and AWS technologies. This individual partners closely with Product Owners, Architects, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable solutions., * Design, develop, and maintain complex enterprise applications and platforms, providing hands-on leadership across both front-end and back-end technologies.

  • Lead technical design sessions, architecture reviews, and implementation planning for large-scale, business-critical initiatives.
  • Establish and enforce engineering best practices across application design, development, testing, deployment, security, and operational support.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams through code reviews, knowledge sharing, coaching, and technical guidance.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
  • Design and implement microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native solutions using modern engineering patterns.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize high-quality Java-based applications utilizing Spring Boot and related frameworks.
  • Design and implement configurable, rule-driven business processes, including the evaluation, integration, and management of business rules engines.
  • Drive the adoption of domain-driven design (DDD), event-driven architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Develop integration frameworks, SDKs, shared services, and reusable platform capabilities that accelerate delivery and reduce duplication across teams.
  • Perform Kafka administration, configuration, monitoring, and optimization to support enterprise messaging and streaming platforms.
  • Design and maintain scalable data models and complex data structures while ensuring data integrity and performance across enterprise environments.
  • Develop complex SQL queries, data operations, and integrations supporting high-performance applications and reporting solutions.
  • Drive cloud-native solution design leveraging AWS services and Infrastructure as Code principles.
  • Lead CI/CD implementation and DevSecOps practices to improve software delivery quality, speed, and reliability.
  • Define standards for application observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing.
  • Design resilient solutions utilizing fault tolerance, retry mechanisms, circuit breakers, dead-letter queues, and disaster recovery patterns.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with organizational strategy and business objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, architectural challenges, and performance bottlenecks throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to establish technical standards, roadmaps, governance processes, and architectural consistency.

Requirements

In addition to hands-on development responsibilities, the Senior Technical Lead leads architecture and design reviews, drives CI/CD and DevSecOps practices, establishes reusable frameworks and platform capabilities, and ensures operational excellence through observability, performance optimization, and reliability engineering. The ideal candidate is a proven technical leader with strong architectural expertise, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence technical strategy and engineering decisions across the organization while remaining actively engaged in software delivery., * Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience.

  • 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least 8 years of hands-on Java development.
  • At least 3 years in a Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, Solution Lead, or comparable architecture/leadership role.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and enterprise application development.
  • Advanced knowledge of Spring concepts, including dependency injection, conditional beans, custom configuration, auto-configuration, and externalized configuration.
  • Strong experience designing and delivering microservices, distributed systems, APIs, and enterprise integration solutions.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on Kafka experience, including messaging, event streaming, configuration, administration, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of event-driven architecture, DDD, service decomposition, bounded contexts, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud-native development, including Lambda, S3, EC2, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation.
  • Strong front-end development experience with Angular and modern web-application frameworks.
  • Experience designing scalable relational and/or NoSQL data models, developing advanced SQL, and optimizing database performance.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, source control, and delivery tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Jira.
  • Knowledge of application security, including OAuth2, JWT, API security, secrets management, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with observability tools and practices, including CloudWatch, Splunk, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, monitoring, logging, metrics, alerting, and distributed tracing.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift is strongly preferred.

Required Technical Competence:

  • Strong understanding of advanced Spring Framework concepts, including dependency injection patterns, conditional beans, custom configurations, and auto-configuration.
  • Deep expertise in configuration-driven application design patterns, feature toggles, runtime configuration management, and externalized configuration strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Expertise in event-driven architectures using Kafka and related messaging technologies.
  • Strong understanding of domain-driven design (DDD), service decomposition, and bounded contexts.
  • Experience implementing cloud-native architectures and modern distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of application security best practices, including OAuth2, JWT, API security, secrets management, and secure coding principles.
  • Strong understanding of observability practices, including application monitoring, logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
  • Expertise in CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, and software quality engineering practices.
