Job description

Data Engineer - Manchester (Hybrid) - Microsoft Fabric - Databricks - PySpark - Up to £55,000

We’re partnering with a highly successful, private equity-backed organisation that is investing heavily in its data and technology capabilities. With a business-wide data transformation programme underway, this is a rare opportunity to join at the beginning of a greenfield journey and help shape the future of data across the organisation.

You’ll have the chance to influence technical direction, work closely with senior leadership, and build modern data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Databricks technologies. The business has an ambitious growth strategy, a people-first culture, and a genuine commitment to professional development and innovation.

You Will Work With

  • Designing and building scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  • Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, Dataflow Gen2 and Fabric Notebooks.
  • Databricks Workflows and Lakehouse technologies.
  • PySpark, SQL and Delta Lake environments.
  • Data ingestion, transformation and orchestration processes.
  • Data governance, security and quality initiatives.
  • Enterprise-wide analytics and reporting solutions, including Power BI datasets.
  • Senior stakeholders across the business to deliver strategic data solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong experience working as a Data Engineer within modern cloud environments.
  • Expertise in PySpark, SQL and data transformation best practices.
  • Experience building and supporting production-grade data pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience with Databricks and Delta Lake technologies.
  • Understanding of Lakehouse architecture and modern data platforms.
