Job description

Koch Ag & Energy Solutions, LLC. (KAES) is hiring a skilled Software Engineer for our Koch Energy Services (KES) Natural Gas Trading team. The Software Engineer collaborates with business stakeholders, analysts, and product owners to deliver software solutions that drive business value, improve efficiency, and enable innovation.

This role partners with Trading, Scheduling, Risk Management, KAES Data Analytics, and other IT teams across KAES to deliver projects that support diverse business opportunities using KAES software development patterns and best practices.

This role is based in Houston, TX or Wichita, KS.

As a KES Software Developer, you’ll prioritize business needs, work on projects to enhance capabilities, reduce waste, and capture revenue opportunities while driving strategic changes for customers.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with business analysts and business product owners to understand requirements
  • Deliver software solutions to meet business needs while following KAES standards and practices
  • Participating in agile and iterative development processes
  • Participate in technical design to deliver robust solutions
  • Implementing modern cloud-based data architecture in AWS
  • Fosters a entrepreneurial mindset, strong communication skills and excellent critical thinking skills

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • 6+ years of experience in Web and Cloud application development
  • Advanced proficiency in React
  • Experience with AWS Lambda.
  • Familiarity with DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with S3Experience with Typescript and NodeJS
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Copilot or Claude

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Energy Industry experience
  • Previous experience building integrations into ETRM systems
  • SQL database experience
  • Experience with CDK or Serverless
  • Familiarity with event driven architecture
