IoT Software Development Test Engineer

STAFFXPERT is an experienced IoT SDET / QA Automation Engineer for a role that is approximately 70% SDET and 30% QA Analyst. The candidate will test proprietary IoT applications, device-to-cloud workflows, telemetry data, APIs, integrations, customer portals, and operational applications. The candidate must have strong Azure DevOps experience, be comfortable with both automated and manual testing, and be able to take ownership of testing activities with minimal supervision., * Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, test cases, and regression suites.

• Create and maintain Azure DevOps Test Plans, Test Suites, Test Cases, Test Configurations, and test execution evidence.
• Establish standardized UAT testing processes, naming conventions, test scenarios, and requirements traceability.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke, exploratory, end-to-end, UAT, and production validation testing.
• Develop and maintain automated test coverage for critical applications and workflows.
• Test IoT device-to-cloud workflows, telemetry data, APIs, integrations, and enterprise applications.
• Validate device connectivity, sensor/telemetry data, event processing, data accuracy, and exception scenarios.
• Perform API testing, data validation, integration testing, and downstream system validation.
• Identify, document, troubleshoot, and retest defects using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data teams, Operations, and Engineering teams to resolve defects and improve test coverage.
• Support release validation, deployment readiness, UAT, production smoke testing, and post-release verification.
• Identify opportunities for test automation and improve regression coverage.

• 7+ years of QA, SDET, Software Testing, or Test Engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on SDET / test automation experience.
• Strong Azure DevOps experience, specifically Azure DevOps Test Plans.
• Experience creating and managing Test Plans, Test Suites, Test Cases, Test Configurations, and test execution evidence.
• Experience with manual and automated testing.
• Strong experience with API testing and integration testing.
• Experience with SQL/database testing and data validation.
• Experience testing enterprise applications, distributed systems, or IoT/connected-device solutions.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, regression testing, and release management.
• Strong defect management experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and solve complex testing problems.
• C# and/or Python experience strongly preferred.
