Junior Data Integration Developer

We are seeking a Junior Data Integration Developer / Junior Cloud Administrator to support the development and maintenance of cloud-native applications, backend services, and data integration solutions within AWS environments. This role focuses on building and maintaining REST APIs, integrating external data services, developing scalable backend microservices, and supporting cloud operations and administration activities.

The ideal candidate will assist with data transformation and validation for large datasets, support event-driven and streaming pipelines, and contribute to the development of responsive applications and visualization tools for meteorological and geospatial data. This role also includes troubleshooting cloud-based systems, supporting operational standards, and assisting with system maintenance and recovery activities.

• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend microservices
• Develop mock APIs and define OpenAPI specifications
• Create scalable backend services using AWS technologies
• Develop serverless functions using AWS Lambda
• Integrate external data services and support event-driven and streaming data pipelines
• Perform data transformation, validation, and processing for large and complex datasets
• Process and visualize geospatial and meteorological data using interactive maps, charts, and dashboards
• Implement caching strategies and optimize application performance
• Integrate with AWS services including S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFront, and EKS
• Develop responsive and interactive user interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks
• Collaborate with backend and integration teams using GenAI-enabled development tools
• Support integration testing, unit testing, and troubleshooting activities
• Assist with cloud administration tasks, including system monitoring, backups, recoveries, and operational maintenance
• Troubleshoot and resolve software, operating system, and networking issues within cloud environments
• Follow development standards, security best practices, and CI/CD processes
• Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing activities

Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, Required

• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder. Will be required to pass a Public Trust Clearance.
• High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred
• 0-2 years of experience in web application development, backend development, cloud administration, or related technical support roles
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and backend service development
• Basic understanding of AWS cloud services and cloud-native development patterns
• Experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes/EKS concepts
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design principles
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Preferred

• Experience with geospatial mapping and visualization libraries such as Mapbox, Leaflet, or OpenLayers
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as D3.js or Chart.js
• Knowledge of WebGL or Canvas-based visualization techniques
• Exposure to meteorological systems, scientific applications, or weather data visualization
• Understanding of scientific or meteorological data formats
• AWS Certifications such as AWS Certified Developer Associate or Solutions Architect
• Experience supporting cloud operations, system backups, and data recovery processes
