Job description
The Information Technology Technician supports and maintains the company’s IT infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operations. Supporting DAT’s manufacturing environment, this role provides hands-on technical assistance, troubleshoots hardware and software issues, maintains systems and equipment, and helps align IT services with business needs through a focus on security, reliability, and continuous improvement., Install, configuration, maintain and troubleshoot servers, networks, and IT systems to ensure optimal performance and resilience.
Support and maintain cybersecurity measures, while following company IT policies and applicable standards, including IATF 16949, ISO 14001, EMS, and IT security requirements.
Perform routine system checks, security audits, and vulnerability assessments, identifying and resolving potential risk proactively.
Assist with IT improvement initiatives, including system upgrades, hardware deployments, and implementation of new technologies that support business operations.
Follow and support company IT policies and procedures while applying best practices for data protection, network security, and system usage.
Provide hands-on technical support for software, hardware, printers, and network-related issues across all shifts in a timely manner.
Support and maintain the IT help desk and ticketing system by documenting issues, tracking resolutions, and identifying recurring problems for improvement.
Assist with user training and guidance to improve employee understanding and effective use of IT systems and equipment.
Maintain accurate records and inventory of IT equipment and assets, assisting with asset tracking, replacements, and lifecycle management.
Coordinate with IT vendors and service providers for equipment support, repairs, software licensing, and related IT services as needed.
Research and assist with implementing new technologies that improve system efficiency, cybersecurity, and operational support within the manufacturing environment.
Support IT process improvements, automation efforts, cloud-based solutions, and technology upgrades where applicable.
Follow plant safety requirements, OSHA standards, and Environmental Management System (EMS) procedures while performing IT-related duties.
Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, equipment, procedures, and support activities, including updates to system configurations and compliance records.
Provide IT support coverage across all shifts as needed, including occasional on-call and overtime support to help maintain critical manufacturing operations.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Virtualization tools?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum 5 years of IT experience, preferably with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (preferred).
· Proficiency in Windows and Linux server environments, VMware virtualization, and network administration
· Experience supporting and administering Active Directory (AD) environments
· Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including firewalls, VPNs, threat detection, endpoint protection, and network security
· Experience with Cisco Meraki environments, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN configuration/support
· Knowledge of Microsoft 365 (O365) cloud services, applications, Azure, and Entra ID
· Experience troubleshooting and maintaining server and workstation hardware
· Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL databases
· Experience with ERP systems, IT asset management tools, and cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
· Understanding of data-center operations and IT service management (ITSM) frameworks such as ITIL
· Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to adapt quickly to new applications and technologies
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to support users across multiple departments and shifts
· Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs in a manufacturing environment
· Experience with documentation, process improvement, and coordination with vendors and service providers
· Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
· May require occasional evenings or weekends depending on business needs.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with C# and/or ASP.NET development
· Familiarity with Power BI reporting and dashboards
· Experience using Power Automate for workflow automation and process improvement
· Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies, automation initiatives, or manufacturing systems integration
