Job description

  • Establish and advocate a cohesive design strategy for advertising within Generative AI. Look past immediate constraints to paint a compelling future for how commercial information integrates seamlessly into conversational and multimodal user journeys.

  • Materialize ambitious concepts through advanced prototyping (including code, system prompting, and high-fidelity interaction design). Set the bar for experiential quality, proving the viability of new interaction models before they enter production.

  • Lead experimentation for a wide variety of novel ad formats. Identify user needs, propose hypothesis-driven designs, and iterate rapidly based on live experiments and research insights.

  • Act as a trusted thought partner to executive leadership across Engineering and Product. Navigate matrixed organizations to drive consensus, advocating the user perspective.

Requirements

Experience owning outcomes and decision making, solving ambiguous problems and influencing stakeholders; deep expertise in domain., + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10 years of experience in product design or UX.

  • Experience building and designing AI-powered consumer products or features.

  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 12 years of experience in product design or UX.

  • 7 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.

  • 5 years of experience working with executive leaders.

  • Proficiency in using code, system prompts, or advanced design tools to create highly interactive prototypes that demonstrate the real feel of an experience beyond static mockups.

The Ads in AI Experiences team is responsible for one of the highest-priority initiatives at Google: reinventing Search Ads for the AI era (AI Overview, AI Mode). We are building the tech stack, the user experience, and the business model simultaneously. Our mission is to ensure that as Search experience evolves with AI, we unlock new ways for users to discover and engage with businesses through seamless, next-generation commercial experiences. We are a team of risk-takers and builders, responsible for experimenting with rapid velocity to define the next decade of Google’s business engine.

Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $236000 - $329000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
