Job description

ProSearch is seeking a Cybersecurity Consultant to join a growing team focused on cybersecurity risk and assurance services. In this role, you’ll help organizations evaluate security controls, analyze risks and vulnerabilities, support compliance initiatives, and develop practical recommendations that improve cybersecurity resilience. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career cybersecurity professional looking to build both technical and consulting expertise.

You’ll work closely with experienced cybersecurity consultants and specialized technical resources while helping organizations strengthen their security posture and manage cybersecurity risk. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy problem-solving, analyzing complex data, researching technical issues, and translating findings into practical recommendations.

What You’ll Do

  • Support cybersecurity controls and risk assessments for government clients.
  • Evaluate security controls against frameworks such as NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls.
  • Analyze vulnerability assessment and penetration testing results.
  • Develop findings, recommendations, and professional assessment reports.
  • Assist with vulnerability assessments, cloud security reviews, configuration reviews, and compliance assessments.
  • Research cybersecurity requirements and technical issues independently.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity consultants, penetration testers, and security specialists.
  • Participate in client meetings and build consulting and client-facing skills.
  • Produce clear, professional deliverables for stakeholders and executive audiences.
  • Travel to client locations as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity controls, risk assessments, and security frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, networking, databases, SQL, vulnerabilities, and core security concepts.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to clients and leadership.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of deliverables., * 1-3 years of cybersecurity, IT security, risk, audit, or infrastructure experience.
  • Experience with NIST, CIS Controls, security controls reviews, vulnerability management, or compliance assessments.
  • Exposure to vulnerability scanning or penetration testing results.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications or coursework.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Kali Linux, Metasploit, or similar security platforms.

Pay Rate: $29-33/hour, The salary range for this role reflects the minimum and maximum compensation for the role. Offers are typically made between the range minimum and the range midpoint. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process. Compensation may also vary based on where a role is performed.
