Senior Full Stack Software Developer - FinTech Platform At Shakers, we’re partnering with a company building a next-generation financial services platform to bring on a Senior Full Stack Software Developer.It’s a hands-on role with real ownership over core systems, working two days a week from a Madrid office in Retiro.The challenge The team is building out the core of a financial platform from the ground up: customer-facing portals, backend services, and the APIs that tie everything together.There’s real ownership here, working closely with product, data and business stakeholders on architecture, security and performance decisions, while also reviewing code and mentoring less senior developers.Delivery speed matters, and the team leans on AI-assisted tooling (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to move fast without cutting corners on quality.Responsibilities Design and build core modules of a financial services platform Develop customer-facing portal experiences on the front end Build and scale backend services and REST APIs Contribute to architecture decisions and technical direction Uphold security, performance and reliability standards across the stack Partner with product, data and business teams on delivery Review code and support the growth of junior developers Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate development without compromising quality Requirements 5+ years of professional software development experience Strong hands-on experience across front-end (React or Angular) and back-end (Java, Python, Node.js or Go) Experience with high-volume or transactional systems Strong problem-solving skills Fluent English Availability for a hybrid model in Madrid (Retiro), 2 days/week onsite Nice to have Experience in FinTech, financial software or payment systems Experience mentoring developers or leading technical projects Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes or DevOps practices Why this project Long-term engagement, not a short sprint Real ownership over core platform components, not a peripheral workstream Direct collaboration with the internal product, data and business teams Sounds like you, or like someone in your network?Reach out or share it along; happy to walk through the details #FullStackDeveloper #FinTech #SoftwareEngineering #Hybrid #Madrid #Freelance #Shakers
