Data Governance Expert

As a Data Governance Expert, you will drive the adoption of governance, stewardship, and data quality practices across business domains and ERP transformation programs, enabling better decisions, stronger accountability, and sustainable business value.Your key responsibilities Support the definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise data governance framework, policies, standards, controls, and operating models across business domains.Drive the operationalization of data governance capabilities, including data quality, stewardship, metadata, cataloguing, security, and compliance practices.Lead & coordinate governance initiatives across domains, tracking progress, managing risks and issues, and ensuring alignment between business, technology, and data teams.Facilitate Data Governance forums and working groups & committees, including documentation, action tracking, reporting, and communication of decisions.Develop and maintain governance policies, standards, data quality rules, KPIs, and stewardship measures to strengthen accountability and data management maturity.Partner with ERP transformation teams to embed governance, stewardship, and data quality requirements into solution design, data migration, and ongoing operations.Build and support Data Owner and Data Steward communities, enabling collaboration, knowledge sharing, and adoption of governance practices across domains.Prepare governance dashboards, executive updates, reports, and communication materials to support leadership decision-making and stakeholder engagement.Conduct governance maturity assessments and recommend practical improvements to enhance enterprise data management capabilities.Drive awareness, enablement, and continuous improvement initiatives to simplify governance processes and increase adoption across the organization.You bring Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, stewardship, ERP data programs, or related enterprise data roles.Strong knowledge of enterprise data management frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, or similar methodologies, with the ability to translate principles into practical governance capabilities, controls, and operating models.Solid experience in defining and implementing data governance policies, standards, stewardship models, data quality frameworks, and compliance practices across complex organizations.Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence, align, and engage business and technology stakeholders across multiple domains.Proven ability to lead, facilitate, and animate Data Owner and Data Steward communities, fostering collaboration, accountability, knowledge sharing, and adoption of governance practices.Experience supporting governance councils, working committees, and Data Office operations, including planning, coordination, reporting, action tracking, and executive communications.Familiarity with data quality, metadata management, cataloguing, stewardship, governance tooling, and platforms such as Informatica.Analytical, collaborative, and structured problem-solving mindset, with strong attention to detail and a passion for continuous improvement.Proficient in Microsoft 365 collaboration tools and experienced working in Agile, cross-functional, and global environments.
