Job description

Day Shift: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

The position will provide support to programs at the Granville location, within the defined World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework, in a manner consistent with the Principles of Conduct and Action of Saint-Gobain.

The Process Data Technician supports manufacturing operations by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and reporting production and quality data. This position works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to maintain accurate data, prepare routine reports, identify trends, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

This role is well suited for an individual who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and supporting manufacturing teams through clear reporting and analysis.

The Engineering Department supports a 24 hour, five days a week operation consisting of three shifts. Employee must be flexible to work a varied schedule concerning hours/days/overtime, if needed, in a fast paced environment to support business needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Retrieves, validates, cleans, and merges data from plant, quality systems, laboratory records, and production databases. Develops accurate datasets that connect process conditions, material information, and product quality results for engineering analysis.
  • Maintain process monitoring tools and SPC reporting, identify unusual trends or deviations, and communicate findings to Engineering, Quality, and Production teams for further evaluation
  • Maintain databases, reporting templates, electronic records, and documentation to ensure data accuracy, consistency, traceability, and accessibility.
  • Assist Engineering and Operations with data gathering, documentation, and reporting for process improvement, quality initiatives, and root cause investigations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance personnel to address data requests, support special projects, and communicate results effectively.

Requirements

High School Diploma with four or more years of relevant technical work exp. - Required

  • Two-year degree- Preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment. Will substitute for equivalent work experience. - Required
  • Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, MS PowerPoint and other applications- Required
  • Demonstrated ability to complete testing in both laboratory and industrial settings.- Required
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical information, oral and written, in English- Required
  • Exposure to SPC, JMP, Minitab, or other statistical software - Preferred
  • Display high mechanical aptitude - Preferred
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and basic electrical schematics - Preferred
  • Document Control/Retention knowledge - Preferred
  • Interpret and execute global standards (ASTM, ISO, OEM automotive) and internal standards (SOPs, Work Instructions, and Quality documents) - Required
  • Knowledge of Saint-Gobain products and specifications - Preferred
