AI Software Developer (M,F)

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an AI Software Developer (m/f) to join our Data Management department based in Toulouse, France.

You will be part of a team developing and deploying data engineering software products used in the design of space systems. Our solutions and services are at the heart of numerous business processes across various stages of the space system lifecycle (tendering, design, verification, and validation). As a key player in the company’s digitalization strategy, our team is driving innovation in how space data is managed and utilized.

You will be involved in the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise software solutions powered by artificial intelligence, Generative AI, and machine learning models. You will play a key role in integrating AI workflows directly into our core Java backend architecture and operationalizing MLOps pipelines.

You will join an enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovation-driven team working within a transnational context using the SCRUM methodology., * Java Backend & AI Integration: Develop, optimize, and maintain robust backend services in Java (Spring Boot), integrating AI components, LLM orchestration frameworks, and external AI APIs.

• AI Feature Development: Build end-to-end AI applications using frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or LangChain4j for RAG implementations and autonomous workflows.
• MLOps & Pipeline Management: Set up and maintain MLOps workflows for model deployment, monitoring, CI/CD automation, and dataset management (using tools like MLflow or Weights & Biases).
• System Architecture & Performance: Ensure high reliability, scalability, and security of software systems within the TSEED1 ecosystem.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, data engineers, and domain experts to turn AI prototypes into production-grade microservices.

• At least 1 succesfull experience in AI is needed.
• Java Mastery: Strong proficiency in Java development, object-oriented design, REST APIs, and modern backend frameworks (Spring Boot).
• AI & Python Ecosystem: Hands-on experience with Python and popular AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, or Hugging Face).
• MLOps & DevOps Tools: Experience with MLOps practices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), version control (Git), and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Vector Databases & Search: Hands-on experience with vector stores (e.g., Pinecone, ChromaDB, Qdrant, or pgvector) for context retrieval.
• Soft Skills: Autonomous, strong problem-solving skills, and comfortable working within a transnational engineering environment., This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
