Job description
As a Linux Administrator SME on our Centralized SuperComputing Facility (CSCF) team, you’ll support day-to-day operations of HPC systems that power ciritical operational systems. You’ll work directly with contract teams, end users, and government stakeholders-automating, troubleshooting, and ensuring our supercomputing infrastructure runs at securely and at peak performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Automate tasking, debugging, and daily operational functions at scale Provide hands-on, one-on-one support to resolve user access and system issues Install and configure software libraries in RHEL/SE Linux using Bash and Expect scripting Deliver projects on time following software engineering best practices Support security, administration, and end-user teams in resolving complex issues Optimize and maintain existing scripts for performance and reliability Serve as the go-to Linux SME for the Operations & Maintenance staff Author and maintain comprehensive documentation across all contract systems
Requirements
Top Secret / SCI w/ CI Polygraph is required Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or AIS + 10 years of experience 5+ years supporting system software in heterogeneous, multi-platform environments Proficient in Bourne/Bash and Expect scripting Expert-level Linux kernel debugging: source code analysis, system logs, crash, systemtap Experience managing Red Hat Satellite repositories for patching and custom kernel builds Familiarity with Ansible and Satellite Server for automated configuration management Experience with identity management systems (LDAP, token-based authentication) Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills Proven ability to analyze, debug, and maintain complex scripting codebases PREFERRED SKILLS High Performance Computing (HPC) environment experience InfiniBand or Omni-Path high-speed fabrics: subnet management, IPoIB/IPoOPA, fabric topology, health monitoring, MPI integration Lustre, NFS, and direct-attach file systems Ethernet networking and RDMA communications (InfiniBand, OmniPath) Python, Perl, Korn, and additional shell scripting Revision control systems (CVS, SVN, Git) SE Linux configuration and policy
