Job description
One of our leading pharmaceutical clients is seeking an AI Application Engineer to help build next-generation AI-driven applications supporting scientific research and drug discovery initiatives. This role will focus on developing intelligent agents, integrating large language models, and creating AI-powered workflows that enable researchers to interact with large-scale biological datasets and research platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience developing production-grade AI applications and working with modern LLM, agent, and orchestration frameworks.
Requirements

2+ years developing and deploying machine learning or AI solutions

Strong proficiency in:

Python and/or TypeScript
-
LLM integration
-
AI agent development
-
Experience with:

MCP Protocol
-
Pydantic AI or similar agent frameworks
-
Tool/function-calling architectures
-
Claude, OpenAI, or comparable LLM ecosystems

2+ years of Google Cloud Platform experience

Strong Docker and containerization knowledge * FastAPI or similar modern Python framework experience

Integration testing and stress testing experience

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures

Agent orchestration frameworks

Drug discovery, biology, bioinformatics, life sciences, or healthcare experience

Experience supporting scientific research environments
