Job description

We are seeking an experienced IMS DBSA (IMS Database/System Administrator) to support enterprise IBM Mainframe environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting IMS/TM, IMS/DB, IMS MSC, and related z/OS infrastructure components. The role requires strong expertise in SMP/E maintenance, IMS database administration, dump analysis, IPCS, performance tuning, and Level-3 production support. Relevant skills align with enterprise mainframe environments involving IMS, z/OS, SMP/E, VTAM, TCP/IP, and third-party IMS tools. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IMS products in z/OS environments.
  • Administer and support IMS/TM, IMS/DB, IMS MSC subsystems.
  • Perform IMS software installation, maintenance, and upgrades using SMP/E.
  • Analyze IMS system failures, dumps, and abends using IPCS.
  • Troubleshoot complex production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
  • Support IMS database design, recovery, reorganization, and performance tuning.
  • Implement IMS maintenance, PTFs, and migration activities.
  • Work closely with application teams supporting IMS COBOL and PL/1 applications.
  • Monitor IMS performance and ensure system availability.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing and high-availability initiatives.
  • Create and maintain operational procedures and technical documentation.
