Job description

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer - Payments to develop secure, scalable payment services for a large, multichannel business. This hands-on backend engineering role will support transactions across in-store POS, e-commerce, mobile, kiosk, and call center environments. Will not sponsor. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. You’ll work primarily with C# and .NET while integrating payment processors, gateways, financial institutions, and other third-party platforms. The ideal candidate has payments experience or a strong background in high-volume transactional systems and wants to expand further into enterprise payment technology. Responsibilities Build and enhance payment services and REST APIs using C# and .NET/.NET Core Develop integrations with processors, gateways, acquiring banks, digital wallets, and external providers Support authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, chargebacks, and transaction routing Improve retry logic, exception handling, failover, observability, and transaction success rates Troubleshoot production issues across applications, APIs, and third-party systems Participate in solution design, code reviews, incident response, and root-cause analysis Partner with Product, Architecture, and engineering teams to deliver reliable payment capabilities Write secure, maintainable, well-tested code for business-critical systems, About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Payment Systems Engineer to help build and scale a modern enterprise payments platform supporting transactions across multiple…

Requirements

Roughly five to ten years of professional software engineering experience Strong hands-on development experience with C# and .NET/.NET Core Experience building REST APIs and integrating third-party platforms Background with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or another relational database Experience troubleshooting complex production or transaction-processing systems Knowledge of secure development practices and sensitive-data protection Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills Experience with payments, fintech, banking, retail commerce, POS, or another transaction-intensive environment is highly valued. Familiarity with PCI-DSS, EMV, tokenization, digital wallets, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, cloud platforms, or distributed systems is beneficial but not required.
