Job description

An experienced Senior Azure Cloud & GitHub Platform Engineer is sought to design, implement, secure, automate, and support enterprise cloud platforms, Kubernetes environments, developer platforms, and CI/CD ecosystems. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader responsible for ensuring cloud platforms are secure, reliable, scalable, observable, and production-ready. This is a specialized engineering position focused on cloud platform architecture, Kubernetes operations, identity management, GitHub administration, automation engineering, deployment governance, and DevSecOps enablement., * Design, implement, administer, and support Azure cloud platform services and enterprise workloads.

  • Deploy, manage, and optimize Azure services including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Service Bus, Azure Storage Accounts, and Azure Functions.
  • Deploy, administer, and support AKS clusters, including provisioning, upgrades, and security.
  • Implement and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions using Microsoft Entra ID and RBAC.
  • Automate and standardize the configuration and administration of GitHub Enterprise environments.
  • Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions, Reusable Workflows, and Self-Hosted Runners.
  • Implement secure workload authentication using OpenID Connect (OIDC) and Managed Identities.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Packer and ARM Templates.
  • Establish DevSecOps controls and automated quality gates across software delivery pipelines.
  • Partner with development teams to improve platform reliability, deployment velocity, and security posture.

Requirements

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.

Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is necessary. This must include at least 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and extensive experience administering GitHub Enterprise environments.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Storage Accounts.
  • Expertise in Identity and Access Management, including Microsoft Entra ID and RBAC.
  • Experience developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing GitHub Apps, OAuth Integrations, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and Self-Hosted Runners.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, and automation scripting.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud Security, DevSecOps, CI/CD practices, and Enterprise Governance.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Experience implementing GitOps deployment models.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise GitHub environments.
  • Experience with Azure Landing Zones and cloud governance frameworks.
  • Experience within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
