Job description
SimIS, Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead systems engineering activities for a U.S. Navy Training Command. This position provides technical leadership for complex simulation and training systems including requirements analysis, system integration, verification and validation, and technical oversight of engineering teams supporting shore-based training systems.
The candidate performs the following specific assignments:
- Deliver expertise in developing and reviewing system requirements, specifications, and technical documentation
- Manage multi-site operations with distributed teams across multiple geographic locations
- Experience managing Windows and Linux server environments
Requirements
- Knowledge of network security, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud computing platforms
- Demonstrated experience with DoD cybersecurity requirements and accreditation processes
- Use experience gained to help manage complex technical programs involving simulation systems and training environments
Experience Required:
- Eight (8) years of systems administration experience with three (3) years in leadership roles
- Mandatory: Must meet DOD 8570 requirements for Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II
- Experience and Knowledge of Navy tactical systems and combat information center operations
- SECRET clearance, * Preferred: Masterâs degree or relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISPA)
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira)
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-site operations with distributed teams across multiple geographic locations
- Experience with government reporting requirements and CDRL deliverables
Special Skills/Knowledge/Training Required/Desired:
- Certified CISSP, CISM, CISPA
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience with NSWCDD or Navy programs, Do you possess at least eight (8) years of systems administration experience with leadership responsibilities?* Do you possess a Secret Clearance?* Do you have experience managing Windows and Linux server environments in secure environments?*
