Job description

Insight Global is seeking a qualified Remote AI Engineer in support of one of our large federal clients in Norfolk, VA. This candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling a next-generation AI system. Their day-to-day will include developing multi-agent AI solutions, building RAG and semantic search capabilities, deploying AI applications within AWS or OCI environments, and ensuring security and compliance standards are met. A qualified candidate will have extensive experience with Python development, AI/ML technologies, cloud platforms, vector databases, RAG architectures, API development, and secure enterprise AI implementations

  • Design and build scalable multi-agent AI systems that can support large enterprise user bases

  • Develop and maintain production RAG pipelines and semantic search capabilities

  • Create and manage data ingestion, preprocessing, chunking, and vector database solutions

  • Deploy and support AI applications and cloud-based microservices

  • Work closely with data scientists, designers, and business stakeholders to integrate AI features into applications

  • Implement security controls, compliance requirements, and AI governance best practices

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Security+ certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 2+ years of production AI, Machine Learning, or NLP experience
  • Understanding of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architecture
  • Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search technologies
  • Understanding of Python development experience
  • Experience building RESTful APIs

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience building multi-agent systems using LangGraph, AutoGen, or similar frameworks

Benefits & conditions

Support the growth of AI platforms expected to serve approximately 40,000 users

Compensation: $56/hr - $82/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
