Senior Java Software Engineer || Remote (EST) || w2role

RELX LexisNexis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) with strong hands-on Java development experience and a security-minded engineering approach. The ideal candidate will be a strong software engineer first, with additional experience in DevSecOps, application security, cloud security, automation, and enterprise environments. This role will work closely with Security, Development, Architecture, SRE, and Application teams to modernize and secure homegrown applications while supporting automation and cloud initiatives. Work Arrangement

• Remote: Candidates must be able to work on EST hours.
• Interview: 3 rounds via video., * Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise Java applications.
• Modify and modernize existing homegrown applications.
• Analyze requirements and independently implement software solutions.
• Support applications running within an Azure cloud environment.
• Collaborate with Security teams to implement security-minded engineering practices.
• Support DevSecOps, application security, automation, and containerization initiatives.
• Integrate applications and platforms with security monitoring and SIEM solutions.
• Work with WAF technologies and related security controls.
• Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
• Evaluate existing architecture and recommend improvements.
• Partner closely with Development, Security, Architecture, SRE, and Application teams.
• Contribute to automation and modernization initiatives across the enterprise.

• Senior-level Software Engineer/Developer experience.
• Strong, hands-on Java development experience.
• Experience with hands-on coding and modifying existing applications.
• Ability to understand requirements and independently implement technical solutions.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
• Security-minded approach to software engineering.
• Experience working with applications and technologies that may include 10 20-year-old homegrown systems.
• Experience working in Azure cloud environments.
• Experience with Python and Bash scripting.
