Job description

The University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) is seeking a skilled and service-driven Endpoint Manager to join our Information Technology Services and Support (ITSS) team. Located in South Carolina’s beautiful Lowcountry, USCB offers an innovative higher education environment where technology plays a critical role in supporting student success, teaching, research, and University operations. What You’ll Do The Endpoint Manager provides advanced technical support throughout the complete workstation lifecycle. This position will:

  • Manage device provisioning, operating system imaging, application packaging and deployment, patch management, and ongoing endpoint maintenance.
  • Create, test, deploy, and support desktop applications and operating system images using industry-standard endpoint management tools.
  • Partner with campus departments to identify technical requirements and deliver reliable, scalable endpoint solutions.
  • Analyze ITSS ticketing data to identify recurring issues, conduct trend and root-cause analysis, and implement solutions that improve system reliability and the user experience.
  • Support incident, service request, and problem management processes while collaborating with ITSS professionals to resolve complex and escalated technical issues.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials, Job Duty Endpoint Engineering & Lifecycle Management - Manage the full lifecycle of endpoint devices, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, from deployment through retirement. Develop, maintain, and deploy standardized operating system images; configure endpoint settings; perform hardware refreshes; and administer endpoint management platforms to provision, update, and maintain devices. This will ensure endpoint devices are secure, standardized, reliable, and capable of supporting the operational, academic, and administrative needs of the university community. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 25 Job Duty Application Packaging, Deployment & Patch Management - Administer enterprise software deployment and patch management processes for operating systems and applications. Package, test, deploy, and maintain software using endpoint management tools; schedule and monitor patch deployments; validate installation success; and remediate failed deployments. This will provide users with reliable access to required applications while maintaining system security, compliance, and operational efficiency through timely updates and vulnerability mitigation. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 25 Job Duty Endpoint Security & Compliance - Support and maintain endpoint security controls and compliance standards across the university’s computing environment. Implement and monitor encryption, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, device compliance policies, and security configurations using industry-standard tools and established procedures. This will safeguard institutional data, reduce cybersecurity risks, comply with regulatory and organizational requirements, and maintain a secure computing environment. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Technical Support & Problem Management - Provide advanced technical support and problem management for endpoint-related issues and services. Utilize the USCB ITSS ticketing system to track, diagnose, document, and resolve incidents and service requests; analyze ticket data; identify recurring issues; and collaborate with ITSS personnel and campus stakeholders on complex technical challenges. This will ensure timely issue resolution, improve customer satisfaction, minimize service disruptions, and identify long-term solutions that enhance service quality and endpoint stability. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job Duty Documentation, Training & Continuous Improvement - Develop technical documentation, training materials, and process improvements related to endpoint services. Create and maintain standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, user guides, and training resources; provide guidance and instruction to campus users and ITSS staff; and recommend process enhancements based on operational metrics and industry best practices. This will improve service consistency, increase user knowledge, enhance operational efficiency, and support the effective adoption and management of endpoint technologies. Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of basic computer functions. Familiarity with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge of BigFix Imaging processes, BigFix Patch Management, Beyond Trust Remote Desktop, OSTicket, and Microsoft Active Directory., Employees in Safety-Sensitive or Security-Sensitive positions will be subject to pre-employment and post-employment drug testing in accordance with University policy HR 1.95 Drug and Alcohol Testing.
