The Cloud Software Architect will architect the modernization of enterprise-class software applications. They will work in coordination with Agile development teams and other stakeholders to architect, design, build, migrate, expand, automate, and sustain a large, multi-tenant cloud platform/enterprise. The Cloud Software Architect will leverage their experience in cloud software architecture to design and direct the development of this exciting new solution.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Cloud Software Architect, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our federal customers. You will play a crucial role via the following:

  • Designs, architects, deploys and maintains cloud solutions
  • Maintains the integrity and security of systems
  • Supports and develops automation
  • Develops in languages such as Bash, Python, Node.js, and React.js
  • Maintains/enhances knowledge of AWS cloud services
  • Composes and maintains standard operating procedures and work instructions, knowledge articles, et al.

Requirements

Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Cloud Software Architect must have: * Education:

  • Training, Certificate, or Degree required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or relevant experience preferred

* Experience: 10+ years of related experience with AWS cloud computing, * Proficiency in the following languages: Bash, Python, Node.js, and React.js

  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing one of the following: Terraform and/or CloudFormation
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and event-driven architecture
  • Linux OS experience
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers) to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Experience with application using serverless architecture and/or containerization
  • Extensive SDLC experience
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various levels of an organization

  • Required Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional

  • Security Clearance Level: Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a position of Public Trust.

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
