As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase in the Client Onboarding & KYC team within Corporate Technology, you will build and enhance applications that support corporate functions across the firm. You will contribute across end-to-end software development, from design and development through testing and delivery in Agile frameworks. You will collaborate closely with your team and key stakeholders, keeping them informed on progress and outcomes. You will help improve engineering quality through disciplined development practices and a focus on high-quality software.
Our wider Corporate Technology team develops applications and provides technology support for corporate functions across our global network, including Global Finance, Corporate Treasury, Risk Management, Human Resources, Compliance, Legal, and the Corporate Administrative Office. You’ll be part of a team built to meet evolving technology needs and deliver on our technology controls agenda., * Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software and new product capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver outcomes aligned to business needs
- Communicate development progress, risks, and dependencies to the team and key stakeholders
- Apply Agile practices to support iterative delivery and continuous improvement
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable builds and deployments
- Use sound object-oriented design and common design patterns to create scalable solutions
- Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge sharing across the team
- Contribute to code quality through reviews, testing practices, and defect resolution
- Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation, Our professionals in our Corporate Functions cover a diverse range of areas from finance and risk to human resources and marketing. Requirements
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
- Proficiency in Java development with J2EE server technologies (Web Services, Spring, ORM frameworks, XML, Enterprise Java Beans, JMS)
- Proficiency in React & UI technologies including HTML5 and JavaScript
- Working knowledge of CI/CD and build tooling (such as Jenkins, TeamCity, Maven)
- Working knowledge of design patterns, UML, and object-oriented concepts
- Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Working knowledge of source control management tools (Bitbucket or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices
- Ability to collaborate within a team and build effective working relationships
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Working knowledge of Angular
- Working knowledge of AWS or equivalent cloud technologies
