Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, Private Equity-backed ICT Services business at a time when the Data and Analytics function is core to the next phase of growth.

Our Data and Analytics team looks after the analytics capabilities across every division, acquisition, and product at Focus Group. As a Graduate Business Intelligence Analyst, you’ll support the wider business with all things data - working closely with business leaders to spot trends, support change programmes, manage our existing BI (Business Intelligence) landscape, and report on how the business is performing.

We’re looking for a motivated person who enjoys solving problems and digging out the story behind the numbers. You’ll help maintain our analysis tools and provide ad-hoc analysis that helps teams - especially sales - understand what the data is telling them.

It’s a great opportunity to get close to both data and business analysis, join a high-performing team, work with a modern reporting tech stack, and support senior stakeholders in driving real change across the business. What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the business with BI reporting and analytics
  • Managing operations dashboards and reporting
  • Coaching and training BI users, and helping build a culture of data-driven decision making
  • Partnering with business leaders on “what-if” and “could-be” analysis to support key initiatives
  • Working closely with our finance business partners on financial analysis
  • Supporting business change and transformation projects with data insight

Requirements

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a commercial mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tell the story behind the data
  • Experience using data analysis to support decision making
  • Confident using the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • An ambitious, inquisitive team player with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent attention to detail

Great to have (not essential)

  • Experience with star schema or multi-dimensional data modelling
  • Experience with data visualisation tools, such as Power BI
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or similar languages used in data analysis

About the company

Focus Group is a £300m-revenue, 1,400-person technology services company backed by Hg Capital. Following our $1bn valuation in 2024, we’re scaling rapidly and investing in AI to transform how we operate and how we serve our 30,000 SME customers. As we continue to expand our portfolio through acquisition, we’re building the data capability to match - and this role sits right at the heart of that., Why join Focus Group

We’re growing fast - through investment, acquisition, and ambition - and this role gives you a front-row seat to that growth. You’ll be working with senior stakeholders from day one, using a modern tech stack, and building skills that open doors across data, analytics, and business partnering. We back our people the same way we back our customers: with the tools, support, and trust to do great work.
