Job description
An established, fast-growing software provider serving municipal government organizations is seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator. This position will support and expand a fully virtualized server environment that currently includes approximately 30 servers and is expected to grow to roughly 60 servers. The role will primarily focus on Windows servers, Microsoft Azure, IIS, Microsoft 365, and cloud infrastructure. Approximately 10 15% of the position will involve end-user support, employee onboarding and offboarding, and workstation configuration. This is an excellent opportunity for a growth-minded technology professional who wants to expand their technical skills while taking ownership of a rapidly evolving environment. Responsibilities
- Build, configure, deploy, and maintain Windows servers and Microsoft Azure virtual machines.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, permissions, system updates, and backups.
- Review existing Azure and IIS environments and replicate configurations for new servers and applications.
- Configure and support Azure virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, routing, firewalls, and connectivity.
- Create, maintain, and troubleshoot site-to-site, point-to-site, and remote-access VPNs.
- Configure and support IIS websites, application pools, bindings, SSL certificates, authentication, and permissions.
- Monitor server health, storage capacity, memory utilization, system performance, backups, and availability.
- Troubleshoot website outages, server issues, application connectivity problems, and network incidents.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Defender.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives, disaster recovery, deployments, migrations, upgrades, and vendor coordination.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of systems administration, infrastructure, or related IT experience.
- Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
- Experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, organization, documentation, and communication skills.
Benefits & conditions
- Base salary of $75,000 $100,000 with an annual bonus of up to $10K
