Full Stack Developer

The purpose of this engagement is to provide web application development and technical implementation for the OpenRecords FOIL Enhancement Project at the NYC Department of Records and Information Services (DORIS). The Web Developer will work under the supervision of the Director of Application Development and in coordination with the project team to design and develop the OpenRecords FOIL application and its related components. The consultant will contribute to the delivery of a modern, user-centered public records access solution built on cloud-based architecture, APIs, and integrated services for the OpenRecords FOIL system., The Web Developer will perform the following activities: Full-Stack Application Development Database Design & Data Management Cloud, DevOps & Containerized Development System Integration & Search Technologies Code Quality, Review & Collaboration Deliverables: Functional web application modules for the OpenRecords FOIL system, including front-end and back-end components RESTful API services for application functionality and integrations Database schemas, optimized data models, and data structures Full-text search functionality, including indexing, query handling, and search result presentation for public records access Reporting and analytics dashboard, providing visibility into FOIL request activity, system usage, and operational metrics Containerized application deployments using Docker for development, testing, and production environments Technical documentation, including system design, API documentation, and workflow descriptions Agile development artifacts including user stories, estimates, sprint deliverables, and acceptance criteria support Code review feedback and participation in quality assurance and secure coding practices, V Group Inc. is a NJ-based IT Services and Products Company with its business strategically categorized in various Business Units including Public Sector, Enterprise Solutions, Professional Services, Ecommerce, Projects, and Products. 5+ years of experience in front-end web application design and development and the following: Experience developing responsive and accessible web applications Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks Experience with Python development using Flask and/or Django Experience designing and managing PostgreSQL and MySQL databases Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs Experience with Docker containerization and cloud-based deployments Experience with Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene search technologies Experience writing shell scripts and working in Linux/UNIX environments Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Experience working with legacy system modernization and application migration Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines Highly collaborative and effective in cross-functional Agile teams
