W2 Role :: Software Engineer - C++ / Embedded Real-Time :: Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite)

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong expertise in C++ and embedded real-time software development to support a highly technical engineering environment in Salt Lake City, UT. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing high-performance, multi-threaded software in Linux or VxWorks environments and a strong understanding of programming languages, compilers, and application execution. Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs and working directly with embedded targets is highly preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience; OR
• Master’s degree in one of the above fields with 4+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance is required.
• Strong experience with object-oriented software development using C++.
• Experience with embedded real-time software development in Linux or VxWorks environments.
• Strong experience with high-performance and multi-threaded programming.

• Demonstrated depth of knowledge in:

• Programming languages
• Compilers
• Application execution
• Experience leading significant software features, resolving complex technical challenges, or providing technical direction for subsystems.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Ability to influence technical execution without direct authority.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced proficiency in C++.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
• Hands-on software development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
• Experience designing embedded systems using a real-time operating system (RTOS).

• Working knowledge of:

• Signal processing
• Control systems
• Networking

• Knowledge of networking and security protocols including:

• IP
• UDP
• TCP
• IPsec
• Strong presentation and technical writing skills., The ideal candidate is a Senior Software Engineer / Embedded Software Engineer with strong C++ expertise, real-time embedded development experience, and an active Secret clearance. Candidates with experience in Linux/VxWorks, multi-threaded programming, embedded systems, RTOS, DoD programs, and high-performance software development will be highly competitive.
