DevOps Application Engineer

Interview Process: 2 rounds; 1st round technical via Teams & 2nd round in person either at Merriweather or Reston office CANDIDATES FROM MD, DC, VA Only DevOps Application Engineer performing deployments, app releases, change ticket submissions, representing change mgmt. calls, reviewing questions for resources, exp. in AWS Cloup OPS Must be available for potential evening & weekend shifts. PURPOSE: Implement, and manage continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to support application deployments. DevOps and Support cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS), EKS Kubernetes., 70% Installs, tunes, upgrades, troubleshoots, and maintains CI/CD pipelines, performs application release deployments in Test and Production environments. Write and maintain automation scripts in Python, Groovy to streamline operational processes and deployments. Collaborate with development and testing teams to enhance system scalability, performance, and reliability. Submit change management tickets, represent on the CAB calls. 30% Manage, monitor, and troubleshooting Linux and Windows-based production environments. Support container orchestration platforms such as Podman and Kubernetes and develop POC using AWS Services.

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree Education Details: Information Technology or Computer Science Experience: 3 years software, DevOps and/or cloud systems engineering In Lieu of Education In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, especially with Jenkins using Groovy, Advanced Understanding of container-based technologies, especially Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS, Expert & Proficient Understanding of microservice concepts, Proficient Scripting skills (Bash, Python), Advanced Technical knowledge of AWS managed services (VPC, EC2, EKS, RDS), including monitoring and analytics tools such as AWS CloudWatch Experience with code management systems (Git) Experience maintaining Java web applications (Spring Boot) Keen communication and teamwork abilities Ability to collaborate to solve technical problems across teams. Advanced Excellent communication skills both written and verbal., Proficient Must be able to be available for weekend support based on the application release deployments and maintenance activities.
