Requirements

We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to help design, build, and scale the large-scale distributed systems supporting enterprise fulfillment platforms. This is a highly hands-on engineering role for an experienced backend developer who enjoys solving complex distributed-systems problems, building resilient cloud-native applications, and taking ownership of systems operating at enterprise scale.

This is a Node.js-first environment. Candidates must have substantial, recent, production-level experience developing backend systems with Node.js and TypeScript. Java experience is valuable, but Java-heavy backgrounds without meaningful Node.js experience will not be sufficient for this role., * 8-10+ years of professional software engineering experience

Strong and recent Node.js backend development experience
Strong TypeScript development experience
Experience designing and developing large-scale distributed backend systems
Meaningful, recent hands-on Microsoft Azure experience
Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs
Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures
Experience with asynchronous and event-driven architectures
Strong understanding of distributed-systems concepts, including:
Scalability
High availability
Fault tolerance
Idempotency
Retry strategies
Eventual consistency
Service-to-service communication
Failure recovery
Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience developing clean, maintainable, well-tested production code
Experience supporting and troubleshooting production applications
Strong understanding of application reliability, resilience, and observability
Ability to make sound engineering decisions within an established architecture
Ability to operate effectively when requirements are incomplete or ambiguous
Strong communication skills across engineering, product, architecture, and business stakeholders
