Job description

The resource would need to report on-site (Albany) for the first week. Position location is hybrid 50% on-site either Albany or Manhattan. We are unable to sponsor new H-1B visa petitions for this position., Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Mainframe Architect to support the Tax Modernization Program. The selected candidate will play a lead role in the Integrated Account System (IAS) Modernization Project, a major initiative focused on modernizing legacy systems within the Client’s Department of Taxation and Finance. The modernization program encompasses multiple projects supporting critical business areas, including Collections and Accounts Receivable and Taxpayer Accounting. The IAS Modernization Project involves converting existing legacy mainframe applications and databases to modern platforms. The Mainframe Architect will actively participate in architecture, technical design, application development, system conversion, performance tuning, testing, implementation, maintenance, and end-user support activities., * Lead technical architecture and design activities for the IAS Modernization Project.

  • Analyze existing mainframe applications, databases, interfaces, and batch processes.
  • Support the conversion of legacy mainframe systems to new technology platforms.
  • Develop and maintain complex tax accounting applications using COBOL, Client, CICS, IDMS, DB2, MQ Series, JCL, and TSO.
  • Design and optimize complex database structures in IBM DB2 for z/OS and DB2 for LUW environments.
  • Participate in application development, data conversion, integration, system testing, and implementation activities.
  • Conduct application performance analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Support large-scale databases containing one terabyte or more of data.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users to understand system requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, maintenance support, and issue resolution for complex taxation systems., We are seeking an Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Developer to build and maintain enterprise-grade digital experiences on AEM Sites, AEM Assets, and AEM as a Cloud Service. The role focuses on hands-on development of components, templates, workflows, integrations, and front-end experiences using AEM’s modern stack, with strong attention to performance, content authoring experience, and long-term maintainability. The ideal candidate has shipped meaningful AEM work in production, understands modern AEM patterns including SPA editor and headless delivery, and balances technical rigor with editor and content-author needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience working with a government taxation organization, including technical design, development, maintenance, and end-user support for complex tax accounting systems.
  • Minimum 7 years of COBOL programming experience in an IBM mainframe environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with IBM DB2 for LUW, including working with databases of one terabyte or larger and using XQuery.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with IDMS and DMLO in a mainframe environment.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with Client (Application Productivity System) and CICS in a mainframe environment.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with IBM MQ Series.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with IBM DB2 for z/OS, including working with complex database structures.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with IBM MVS JCL in a mainframe environment.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with TSO in a mainframe environment.
  • Minimum 7 years of application performance analysis and tuning experience., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Five or more years of AEM development experience.
  • Deep expertise in Java, OSGi, Sling, and HTL.
  • Strong understanding of AEM architecture including author, publish, and Dispatcher tiers.
  • Hands-on experience with AEM as a Cloud Service or AEM 6.5.
  • Experience building Content Fragments, GraphQL APIs, and headless delivery patterns.
  • Strong front-end skills with modern JavaScript and build tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for AEM deployments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Adobe Certified AEM Developer credentials.
  • Experience with Edge Delivery Services and Franklin/HLX.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Experience Platform.
  • Exposure to multi-region or multi-brand AEM deployments.
  • Experience integrating AEM with commerce platforms (Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
