Mainframe Developer

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team as a Delivery Project Lead. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in COBOL LE and will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe applications. This role requires a deep understanding of mainframe technologies and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meet client needs. 8-12 years in a various roles associated to Software Coding, Maintenance & Support and Technical Documentation. Responsibilities:

• Lead and support multiple client engagements within the Life Insurance and Annuity domain.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, business analysts, and development teams to analyze business requirements and design effective technical solutions.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, and solution architecture discussions.
• Conduct design reviews and provide recommendations on application architecture, data flow, and system integration.
• Ensure adherence to Project Life Cycle Methodology, IT control policies, and corporate architecture standards.
• Prepare and maintain high-level and low-level technical design documents and specifications.
• Provide technical leadership to development and support teams across onshore and offshore locations.
• Drive code quality through code reviews, best practices, and development standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and adoption of emerging technologies.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and market developments related to Life Insurance and Annuity products.
• Must be able to understand and leverage latest AI capabilities via enterprise tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and in-house Models to gain operational efficiency and high throughput

• Strong experience in Life Insurance, Annuity products, and Policy Administration Systems.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in development, maintenance, and support projects involving Mainframe technologies, preferably COBOL, DB2/SQL, C#, and .NET. Framework
• Git and GitHub or any other Git Repository understanding
• API Design and Integration

• Application Architecture and Solution Design
• Minimum 6+ years of experience working with SQL databases.
• Strong understanding of Policy Administration System architecture and design principles.
• Experience working directly with clients and managing technical delivery across distributed teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of version control tools like Git.
• Working knowledge and understanding of AI tools and features like Skills, custom Agents, Custom instructions, MCP, hooks etc. for operational excellence with judicious token utilization

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends in the Life Insurance and Annuity sector.
• Experience with automation initiatives and modern software development practices.
• Professional certifications in Life Insurance, such as LOMA, are highly desirable.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Technology (B.Tech) or
