Job description

The AI, Search & Knowledge Platforms team is looking for a Software Engineer to help develop a best-in-class service for real-time search to power the capabilities of Siri and other Apple search products. These services enable users worldwide to instantly check the weather, track flights, get sports scores, monitor the stock market, or find the perfect GIF. We are part of a broader effort to power intelligent information retrieval across a variety of Apple products, including Siri, Spotlight, Safari, Lookup, Messages, and other Apple apps. As a part of this team, you’ll collaborate with world-class engineers to leverage and improve upon the latest advancements in machine learning and software engineering. You will build systems to understand user queries and intents, retrieve and rank documents and generate experiences our customer love. Additionally, you will contribute to horizontal efforts in data generation and evaluation. This is an outstanding opportunity to shape search and the AI assistant experience for millions of users worldwide., Join our team to develop the engine that powers real-time experiences for Siri and Search for millions of users globally! As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for ingesting and delivering exceptional user experiences. Your work will utilize distributed systems, design and manage real-time data ingestion pipelines, and develop advanced search systems. You’ll collaborate with world-class engineering, product, and design teams to create rich user experiences. These will be powered by robust, high-performance backend systems and machine learning technology to execute on our technical roadmap.

Requirements

  • You want to deliver innovative new experiences to our users, and can design and build the systems to support them
  • You have experience writing high-performance server software on Linux/Unix
  • You are proficient in two of following languages: C/C++, Go, Python, Java, Scala
  • BS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Data Science or related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have experience with realtime ingestion pipelines
  • Analyzing search ranking and relevance requirements issues and opportunities
  • 2+ years of industry related experience, working in collaborative environments
  • Building machine-learned models for search relevance ranking query understanding and questioning
  • Experience with utilizing PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX for training and deploying deep learning models
  • You have experience with RESTful services and supporting production environments
