Job description

Join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) team as a Controls Technician, where you will be at the forefront of innovating technologies that shape the cloud computing landscape. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the physical infrastructure necessary for our extensive data center operations. Your work will directly contribute to the efficiency and reliability of AWS services that countless customers depend on. Leveraging advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, you will address a range of control systems, from airflow and cooling units to security protocols-all aimed at ensuring optimal data center performance., * Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of various data center control systems including but not limited to building automation systems, electrical power monitoring systems, and security control systems.

  • Monitor system performance and data, making adjustments to infrastructure controls as needed to optimize operations.
  • Coordinate with data center operations teams to implement and refine system upgrades and modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards within the data center environment.
  • Document all maintenance and repair work, providing detailed reports and feedback to management for ongoing improvements.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) and Building Management System (BMS) software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems in a data center context.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret system and equipment plans, blueprints, and documentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
