Job description

We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to provide hands-on security engineering support across a large enterprise IT environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting cybersecurity technologies, security integrations, Linux platforms, automation, incident response, and enterprise security operations. This role will be responsible for developing security automation and response workflows, troubleshooting complex technical issues, integrating security platforms, and supporting a broad range of cybersecurity technologies and operational functions. The position requires a security engineering generalist who can work effectively across security, infrastructure, applications, identity, networking, and cloud environments., * Provide hands-on security engineering support across multiple cybersecurity technologies, platforms, systems, and integrations.

  • Design, develop, and maintain security automation, scripts, utilities, integrations, and custom tools using Python.
  • Develop automation and security response workflows using Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, JSON, YAML, and vendor SDKs.
  • Deploy, configure, patch, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux systems and security platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues involving applications, security platforms, operating systems, networks, identity services, and system integrations.
  • Support enterprise security technologies including IAM, DSPM, ASM, vulnerability management, email security, endpoint security, SIEM, SOAR, logging, monitoring, and cloud security.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between cybersecurity platforms and enterprise systems.
  • Support security operations teams, SOC analysts, security engineers, incident responders, and agency customers.
  • Assist with incident response, security investigations, technical troubleshooting, and remediation activities.
  • Develop and maintain security playbooks, runbooks, procedures, technical documentation, and operational standards.
  • Support security platform administration, lifecycle management, monitoring, and operational improvements.
  • Apply enterprise security architecture principles, access-control practices, secure software development concepts, and industry-standard cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Work effectively in a large, multi-tenant, shared-services, or managed-service environment with rapidly changing operational priorities.
  • Collaborate with technical and security teams to implement secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting large IT environments, security systems, software development, and/or system deployments.
  • Hands-on experience in security engineering supporting multiple cybersecurity technologies, systems, integrations, and operational functions.
  • Strong experience developing security automation, scripts, integrations, utilities, and custom tools using Python.
  • Strong Linux system deployment, configuration, patching, scripting, service management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and lifecycle-management experience.
  • Experience developing automation and response workflows using Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, JSON, YAML, and vendor SDKs.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience across applications, security platforms, operating systems, networks, identity services, and integrations.
  • Experience supporting multiple enterprise cybersecurity technologies, including IAM, vulnerability management, SIEM, SOAR, endpoint security, email security, logging/monitoring, and cloud security.
  • Understanding of enterprise security architecture, incident response, networking, access control, secure software development, systems administration, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with SOC analysts, security engineers, incident responders, customers, and other technical teams.
  • Certifications

  • CJIS certification will be required for this position and will be processed by the client.
  • CISSP
  • Security+
  • GIAC, * Experience serving as a security engineering generalist in a large, multi-tenant, shared-services, or managed-service environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, Docker, security sensors, monitoring, scripting, and platform administration.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks, Proofpoint, Tenable, Cribl, VUG, or comparable enterprise security technologies.
  • Experience developing security playbooks, runbooks, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting SOC analysts, security engineers, incident responders, and enterprise customers.
  • Experience with security engineering or platform-related certifications in Linux, Python, Cloud, IAM, or cybersecurity.
