Back-end / Platform Engineer - Trading Data Infrastructure Join a high-impact technology team shaping the software and data infrastructure behind critical energy and trading processes.As a Backend Engineer / Platform Engineer, you’ll help build reliable, scalable services that connect applications, data and infrastructure across the organisation.This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced backend engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, designing pragmatic solutions and working across the boundaries of software engineering, data platforms and cloud infrastructure.What you’ll do : Build and evolve backend services, APIs and platform tooling used by data and engineering teams.Design robust integration and ingestion services connecting applications, systems and storage.Develop performant data models and scalable, resilient storage solutions.Improve data quality, observability, lineage and platform reliability.Translate business needs into clear technical designs and sustainable solutions.Work closely with infrastructure teams on cloud environments, provisioning and maintenance.Collaborate with stakeholders across technology and the business to deliver meaningful outcomes.What you bring : ~7+ years of professional software engineering experience.~ Strong backend development skills in Python, C#, Java or a similar language.~ Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, ideally Azure.~ Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.~ Working experience with databases, preferably PostgreSQL.~ Understanding of data integration, workflow orchestration and distributed systems.~ A pragmatic, analytical approach to complex engineering challenges.~ Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.~ Fluency in English (C1 or better); Spanish is advantageous.~ Experience in energy or trading is welcome, but not essential.You’ll join a small, ambitious team with the freedom to move quickly, make decisions and create lasting impact.If you want to shape the foundations of a modern technology and data landscape, we’d like to hear from you.Please note - the role is Hybrid and would potentially demand 2 days per week from the Central Madrid offices.
