Job description

As a Front-End Developer at Trust Payments, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining our web applications. Working closely with product, design, and back-end engineering teams, you will be responsible for delivering intuitive, performant, and reliable user experiences that directly shape how our merchants interact with our platforms

What We Expect of You, Day To Day:

  • Create new features within web-based applications in collaboration with the development team
  • Maintain and improve the web application framework
  • Ensure best practices are followed, producing clean, secure software
  • Fix defects and resolve feedback from the product owner with support from the wider team
  • Write automated unit tests
  • Investigate defects reported by stakeholders and end users, identifying root causes and delivering appropriate fixes
  • Attend and engage in team retrospectives and workshops to support continual improvement
  • Understand business requirements to ensure tasks are completed in line with agile methodology
  • Provide estimations on tasks to the team

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining front-end web applications with Next.js
  • Experience with CSS/Sass and UI component frameworks such as MaterialUI, including theming
  • Hands-on experience developing Next.js API backends to support the front end
  • Understanding of API integrations with backend services
  • Experience writing automated unit tests using tools such as Jest / React Testing Library
  • A solid understanding of design principles and clean code practices
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipeline environments
  • A commitment to producing high-quality code that meets task requirements
  • Understanding of enterprise software development and maintenance
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with tech leads, developers, product teams, QA, and BAs
  • Awareness of application security compliance and ability to raise concerns appropriately
  • Understanding of the software product development lifecycle and test processes

Desirable

  • Professional, positive approach to work with strong communication skills
  • Comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Experience in Next.js / React application development
  • Knowledge of API integrations
  • Proficiency in TypeScript / Node.js
  • Experience writing unit tests using tools such as Jest
  • Experience with CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab Pipelines) from an application configuration perspective
  • Proficiency with version control tools, particularly Git
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • A genuine curiosity about software development, with an interest in emerging tools and methodologies
