Job description

The Assistant Application Database Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design, testing, implementation, and support of databases used by a global financial application environment. This role plays a key part in designing and developing database capabilities, gathering requirements for new functionality, supporting data integrations, and developing enterprise ETL processes. The position collaborates with business users, development teams, and deployment teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented effectively. The role may also lead small to mid-size projects and provide ongoing support for critical database environments., * Design, develop, maintain, and support database environments for enterprise applications.

  • Analyze business requirements and architect database solutions.
  • Support critical database environments during and outside standard business hours.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance using tools such as Query Store, Execution Plans, DMVs, Extended Events, and First Responder Kit.
  • Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages for ETL processes, data migrations, and automated workflows.
  • Develop and support enterprise ETL processes and data integrations.
  • Integrate data between internal and external applications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automated data loads.
  • Implement error handling, auditing frameworks, and ETL performance optimizations.
  • Review database development work and recommend performance improvements.
  • Participate in requirements-gathering sessions and document business and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with development teams to review requirements and assess technical feasibility.
  • Coordinate activities across onshore and offshore teams.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to database standards and SDLC processes.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for systems, applications, interfaces, and processes.
  • Administer SQL Server Agent jobs, including scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting synchronization processes.
  • Develop time and cost estimates for new or modified work items.
  • Research and evaluate new tools and processes to improve team efficiency.
  • Manage source control, deployment processes, and pipelines using Azure DevOps (TFS).
  • Support database-related needs across project teams and application environments.

Requirements

  • Experience with database analysis, design, development, implementation, and support.
  • Strong database design, development, and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience gathering and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration and optimization.
  • Experience with SSIS development and ETL processes.
  • Experience with data transformation, migration, and application integration.
  • Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database and ETL performance.
  • Experience conducting code reviews and enforcing database standards and SDLC practices.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Experience administering SQL Server Agent jobs.
  • Ability to collaborate with business users, development teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience working with distributed, onshore, and offshore teams.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps (TFS) for source control, deployment, and pipeline management.
