Job description
SHR Consulting Group is seeking Storage Services Watch Officers to staff a continuous 24x7x365 watch supporting the DISA J-9 Hosting and Compute enterprise storage, backup, and failover environment. This team is the first line of detection and response for storage system faults across an approximately 25-petabyte multi-fabric SAN supporting Command and Control and Continuity of Operations data requirements. Watch personnel monitor the environment, respond to faults, assist customers with storage, failover, and backup needs, and hold a formal Watch Officer certification maintained through a Qualification Board of on-staff subject matter experts. This role is well suited to a systems administrator who wants deep operational exposure to enterprise storage on a stable shift schedule., * Provide continuous 24x7x365 monitoring of the enterprise storage, backup, and failover environment from the designated duty location
- Detect, triage, and respond to system faults across the storage area network, backup infrastructure, and clustered failover environments
- Assist customers with storage, failover, and backup needs, escalating to Tier III subject matter experts as required
- Monitor nightly backup job reports, identify failed jobs, and initiate troubleshooting or escalation
- Escalate and notify Government personnel within one (1) hour of identification of system degradation, and record issues and corrective actions taken
- Execute established Standard Operating Procedures for fault response, notification, and shift turnover
- Attain and sustain Storage Services Watch Officer certification, including periodic re-training and testing by a Qualification Board of on-staff subject matter experts
- Contribute to updates of SOPs and training materials as storage technology changes
- Support disaster recovery testing, quarterly customer failover testing, and cluster health checks
- Maintain accurate watch logs and contribute to incident, change request, and work order reporting
Requirements
- Systems administration or NOC/watch floor experience in an enterprise infrastructure environment
- Working familiarity with enterprise storage and/or backup and recovery platforms and their monitoring and alerting tools
- Demonstrated ability to conduct service interruption event management, triage, and escalation under time pressure
- Ability to follow and contribute to detailed Standard Operating Procedures and maintain disciplined shift turnover
- Willingness and availability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear oral and written communication, including customer-facing incident communication and Government notification
- Experience in a DoD or comparable large, complex enterprise IT environment preferred
Certification Requirements
DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification required prior to start. Computing environment certification in storage- or server-related technologies required. Storage Services Watch Officer certification must be attained and maintained through the program Qualification Board. Certifications must be uploaded to CMIS within five days of start date. Security Clearance
Active Top Secret clearance required for the majority of positions on this team; a limited number of positions may be filled at the Secret level. U.S. citizenship required. Work Environment
On-site at the Raven Rock Mountain Complex (RRMC), the current Government-designated duty location for this watch team, or another duty location as designated by the Government. This is a shift-based position in a secure facility; telework is not available for watch coverage.

Schedule: Full-time, 24x7x365 rotating shift coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays
