Job description
Support mission-critical Command and Control (C2) systems-designing, developing, and modernizing full-stack software solutions that deliver real-time situational awareness to U.S. and allied warfighters across the global battlespace. A Day in the Life - What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications supporting mission-critical C2 platforms.
- Build intuitive, scalable, and secure front-end user interfaces for situational awareness and intelligence systems.
- Develop robust back-end services, APIs, and microservices to support real-time data processing and system integration.
- Architect and integrate RESTful web services and event-driven systems for high-performance applications.
- Collaborate with geographically distributed Agile teams across the full software development lifecycle.
- Support sustainment and modernization efforts for enterprise-level DoD systems.
- Conduct independent technical investigations, recommend solutions, and support integration of new capabilities.
- Design and manage databases across multiple paradigms including SQL, NoSQL, and geospatial systems.
- Ensure compliance with DoD security standards, secure coding practices, and performance requirements.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies.
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability across front-end and back-end components.
- Communicate technical progress, risks, and solutions effectively with stakeholders and leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline or equivalent experience
- Mid-Level: 3-5+ years of professional software development experience
- Senior-Level: 5-10+ years of professional software development experience
- Active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI
- Proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue)
- Strong experience with Java and Object-Oriented Design and Programming
- Experience designing and architecting front-end and back-end applications
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and web services
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar)
- Experience with database design and management (SQL, NoSQL, Geospatial, key/value stores)
- Strong understanding of full-stack software architecture and design principles
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with frameworks and tools such as Spring/Spring Boot, Node.js, NPM, TypeScript, Maven, Gradle, and Jenkins
- Experience with GraphQL and modern API design practices
- Proficiency with IDEs such as VSCode, Eclipse, or NetBeans
- Experience with automated testing tools (JUnit, Jest, Robot Framework, Selenium)
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and component libraries (Bootstrap, Material UI, Quasar)
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and containerized application development
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows system administration
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
- Knowledge of DoD STIGs, secure coding standards, and static code analysis tools (SonarQube, Fortify)
- Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
- Familiarity with Command and Control (C2) systems and defense environments
- Experience with performance testing, debugging, and system optimization
- Ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts to algorithm development
- Background in military intelligence, imagery, or strategic planning
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
