Remote Systems Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Windows Server Upgrade Engineer to support a large-scale migration effort involving Windows Server 2012 and 2016 environments. This individual will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring server upgrades through completion by year-end. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience with Windows Server administration, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to quickly resolve upgrade-related issues. Candidates should be comfortable coordinating with application teams when application-specific problems arise and remain actively engaged throughout the upgrade process to ensure a smooth transition. Prior experience leading or supporting Windows Server upgrade projects is required.

3-5 years of Windows Server administration experience.

Proven experience upgrading Windows Server 2012 and 2016 environments.

Ability to independently manage and monitor server upgrades through completion (target: end of December).

Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve upgrade-related issues and system hiccups.

Experience identifying and escalating application-specific issues to the appropriate application teams.

Hands-on, proactive mindset; able to stay engaged and “babysit” upgrades through the entire process. 5+ years of expertise in VEEAM backup and recovery solutions.

5+ years of experience with HPE hardware;

3+ years with Dell hardware.

3+ years of experience using Orion/NPM or similar monitoring platforms.
