Job description

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Requirements

As a software engineer you will serve as a software developer for F-35 Pilot Systems Software (PSSW), Multi-Function Display (MFD), and Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) Teams. In this role you will be expected to lead in the design, development, test and integration of real-time, embedded display software for TR3 and TR2 hardware. This software will be developed in C++ and OpenGL using an agile methodology.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and an Interim Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or above required within Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related major

  • C++ experience

  • Python experience

  • Unix/Linux experience

  • Design Patterns, Programming to an Interface

  • Experience with large real time embedded software development

  • Agile/Scrum Development experience

Desired Skills

Embedded display experience

  • Experience with JSF architecture

  • Experience with test automation

  • Complete software lifecycle development process and test philosophies

  • CI/CD, Pipeline, DevSecOps

  • OpenGL, VulkanSC, QT

  • Python and/or Perl

  • Atlassian Collaboration Tools

  • Experience in a fast past-paced environment in technical teams across virtual environments

  • Experience or familiarity with System Integration and Test

  • Team leadership experience

  • Mission Systems/Avionics background

  • Detail and teamwork oriented

  • Experience applying design patterns in C++

  • OOA/OOD/OOP
