This position is in support of the Department of State (DOS) as a part of the Vanguard 2025 contract. The Vanguard 2025 program provides transparent, interconnected systems and security support for the Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Information Resource Management (IRM) program. The IRM program enables the Department of State to successfully carry out its foreign policy mission by providing enterprise architecture design, engineering, operations and maintenance support services for data center services, desktop computers, servers, networks, firewalls, voice and data communications and other unique enterprise applications., * Architect, configure, manage, and deploy services to improve our ability to protect Enterprise data based on organizations policies and maintaining the RTO and RPO.
  • Ensures all data is backed up according to company policies and SLAs, performing upgrades, capacity planning, and performance analysis as it relates to day-to-day operations.
  • Deep troubleshooting related to failures, performance and root cause analysis and building more fault-tolerant backup environment.
  • Review daily backup reports to remedy failures and increase job success rates.
  • Collect, analyze, and document information about the current Commvault environment.
  • Fix and optimize backup/restore throughput issues.
  • Develop solutions to fix complex data movement challenges, such as backups over WAN.
  • Own trouble tickets and work them to resolution.

Requirements

  • Must possess 5+ years of Commvault experience (Commvault certifications are a plus)
  • 10+ years of Data Protection experience
  • preferably with Commvault (Commvault certifications a plus)
  • Must have comprehensive and expert knowledge of backup architecture and its hardware / software products.
  • Practical experience in concepts such as data management, disaster recovery, software performance tuning and continuous data replication
  • Ability to logically solve IT issues with confidence.
  • Ability to take detailed notes, work independently and efficiently, and to communicate optimally as a team member.
  • Ability to convey highly technical information in business terms to upper management.
  • Experience with virtualization on VMware in complex and distributed environments.
  • Experience with NetApp storage.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related field.
  • Commvault certification.
  • Other relevant technical certifications.

Benefits & conditions

Target Salary Range: The anticipated salary range for this position is $148,000.00 to $205,000.00 This range is not a guarantee of compensation. Final salary will be determined based on factors including experience, geographic location, and any applicable contractual requirements, and may fall above or below the stated range.
