Job description
This role supports the collaborative, multi-disciplinary Global Command and Control Systems - Maritime (GCCS-M) Product Support Team (PST) by providing critical hands-on technical support to USS Naval Ships both afloat and ashore. In this role, you will be expected to resolve complex help desk tickets, conduct rapid-response travel to ships located CONUS & OCONUS to troubleshoot CASREPs, and lead installations of all GCCS-M baselines currently deployed to the Fleet.
Travel Requirement: 25%-40%
- Must be willing and able to travel on short notice to CONUS and OCONUS locations, including boarding USS Naval Vessels and remaining underway for brief periods during testing or transit.
What You’ll Do:
- Create, review, and track technical help desk tickets within the Helix system to resolve Casualty Reports (CASREPs) and other urgent C4I system issues.
- Deliver high-quality, remote troubleshooting and technical assistance to Fleet customers worldwide.
- Travel to USS Naval Vessels (CONUS/OCONUS) to install, upgrade, maintain, and configure critical GCCS-M baselines.
- Identify system deficiencies and execute corrective actions across software, interfaces, and networks for C4I systems, including GCCS-M (FL 4.1.1.1, GL 4.1.2.1, 4.1.5.0) C2PC, Link 11, and related peripherals.
- Administer and maintain diverse C4I environments consisting of RHEL/Unix/Linux/Windows PCs, workstations, servers, Local Area Networks (LANs), and tactical communications devices.
- Analyze, test, and implement Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government-off-the-Shelf (GOTS) software to optimize system administration workflows.
Requirements
- Experience with system installation, testing, and check-out for both ashore and afloat Navy C4I systems.
- Experience delivering technical instruction and system training to Fleet personnel.
- System administration experience with Solaris (10/11) and modern Windows Server environments.
- Direct experience configuring and maintaining virtualized environments (specifically VMware vSphere/ESXi).
- Network administration experience, including hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance., * Associate/BS in a technical field + 3-5 years of DoD/Navy systems-level experience
- Active Secret Clearance
- Active CompTIA Security+ (IAT Level II)
