Job description

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

As a Hardware Engineer, you will be a part of the team of experts working on the development of advanced Customer Terminal products. You will own or contribute to the following:

Design high-speed digital and/or RF circuits in collaboration with various teams Design and optimization of different blocks of electronics sub-systems Schematic capture and lead PCB layout design and reviews Design DC/DC power supplies and Point of Load Support flow-down requirement definitions and generate test plans/procedures Board bring-up and perform test campaigns of modules and subsystems Support design automated test systems, test fixtures and factory test Support the transition of the designs to mass production

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent

  • 1-2 years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
