Software Engineer, RF-01-0052

Cyber B.A.T. is seeking a Software Engineer Level 1 to develop, maintain, and enhance mission-focused software applications, with an emphasis on graphical user interfaces, dashboards, AWS cloud environments, automated workflows, and AI/ML integration. This role involves designing and testing software, integrating new functionality, troubleshooting and resolving defects, developing algorithms and database interfaces, and collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements
• Design and develop user-friendly graphical user interfaces and interactive dashboards
• Design, deploy, and manage applications and infrastructure in AWS cloud environments
• Integrate new features and functionality into existing tools and systems
• Develop and maintain automated workflows to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency
• Integrate AI/ML models into existing applications and workflows to enhance functionality and decision-making
• Monitor and optimize automated workflows and AI/ML model performance
• Analyze user requirements and translate them into software design and performance requirements
• Design, code, test, debug, and modify new and existing software applications
• Develop algorithms and software solutions that meet system performance and functional requirements
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments
• Develop database queries and interfaces for existing and proposed data repositories
• Review and create software and system documentation
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements
• Develop and execute software testing procedures and document test results
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and problem reports
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle
• Apply appropriate software development, design, and Agile methodologies
• Evaluate opportunities for software reuse and the integration of COTS/GOTS solutions
• Provide input on system design, requirements analysis, hardware/software trade-offs, and software architecture
• Recommend improvements to software development processes, documentation, and standards
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a software development team

• Active TS/SCI Clearance with a current Maryland Polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
• Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Four (4) additional years of Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
• Strong software development experience with Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and/or TypeScript
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Experience developing responsive and accessible web interfaces and dashboards
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway, and DynamoDB/RDS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience using Python for automation and workflow development
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or AWS Step Functions
• Basic experience integrating AI/ML models into software applications
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Docker/containerization, and cloud security best practices
• Experience with Git and software testing frameworks, including unit and integration testing
• Experience analyzing system performance, data usage, system flows, and operational processes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an Agile development environment
